Feeling the school blues a couple months ago, my friend Charley and I decided to make a reservation for high tea at the Queen Mary after school was out so that we had something to look forward to.
And today, our tea day finally came. We dressed up, donned our tiaras, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon of tea and crumpets and other delicious things.
The Queen Mary is my favorite place to go when I need to feel like a queen. (Which is often.)
Both Charley and I had English Breakfast tea. It’s too classic to resist.
The afternoon tea comes with savory sandwiches, sweet scones and crumpets, and fruit.
And everything is most enjoyed with friends.
One of my favorite songs from Barney Kessel’s album, Blue Guitar: “Tea for Two”
